Party Drink Quantity Calculator

Multiply guests by drinks each, then divide by the drinks per bottle to see how many bottles you need.

—

The result shows the total drinks needed and the number of bottles to buy, rounded up so there is enough for every guest.

Formula

Total drinks = guests x drinks per guest. Bottles = total drinks / drinks per bottle, rounded up.

How it works

Drinks per bottle depends on the drink: a 750 ml bottle gives about five 150 ml glasses, while larger bottles give more.

Always round bottles up and add a spare or two — running out of drinks ends a party faster than running out of food.

Worked example

For example, 20 guests x 4 drinks per guest = 80 drinks, and 80 / 5 drinks per bottle = 16 bottles.

FAQs

How many glasses from a 750 ml bottle?
About five glasses at 150 ml each, or six smaller 125 ml servings.

Do I need to count water?
Yes — allow at least one bottle of water per few guests, especially at long or warm-weather parties.

What if guests drink different things?
Split the total across drink types by rough preference, and keep one option generous for the most popular choice.
