Gift Budget Split Calculator
Divide your total gift budget by the number of recipients to see a fair amount per person.
This result is the amount available for each recipient's gift when the total budget is shared equally.
Formula
Per recipient = total budget / number of recipients.
How it works
An even split is a starting point. If one recipient is a close family member and others are acquaintances, weighting the split is perfectly fair.
Setting the total first stops the common trap of buying each gift separately and discovering the total far too late.
Worked example
For example, with a total gift budget of $100 shared among 4 recipients, each recipient gets $100 / 4 = $25.00.
FAQs
Should every gift cost the same?
Not necessarily. An even split is fair as a default, but closeness and occasion can justify different amounts.
What about wrapping and cards?
Include them in the budget if money is tight — they add up across several gifts.
How do I handle a group gift?
Divide the group gift's cost among contributors first, then treat each person's share as part of their own budget.
