Running Time Calculator

Predict how long a run will take from distance and target pace.

—

This is the total time the run should take if you hold the entered pace for the whole distance, shown in minutes and in hours and minutes.

Formula

Running time equals distance in kilometres multiplied by pace in minutes per kilometre.

How it works

Distance times pace gives total minutes, which the page also shows as hours and minutes for longer runs. Hills, heat and fatigue will make real times longer than this flat, even-pace estimate.

Worked example

For example, a 10 km run at 6 minutes per km takes 10 × 6 = 60 minutes, which is 1h 00m.

FAQs

Is this a race prediction?
Only roughly. Even pace is hard to hold over long distances.

What about walking breaks?
Add their minutes to the result if you plan breaks.

How do I improve the estimate?
Use your actual pace from a recent run of similar distance.
