Invoice Total With Discount Calculator
Apply a discount percentage to an invoice subtotal and show the amount saved and the amount due.
This result shows how much the customer saves from the discount and how much remains to pay on the invoice.
Formula
Discount amount = subtotal multiplied by discount divided by 100. Total due = subtotal minus discount amount.
How it works
Enter the subtotal and the discount you are offering, such as an early-payment or loyalty discount. The result shows both the saving and the final amount the customer pays, which keeps invoices transparent.
Worked example
For example, with a subtotal of $1000 and a discount of 10 percent, the discount amount is $1000 × 10 ÷ 100 = $100, so the total due is $1000 - $100 = $900.
FAQs
Should tax come before or after discount?
Usually tax is calculated on the discounted total, but confirm local rules before invoicing.
Is a discount always good?
It can win orders, but it cuts margin directly. Check the discounted price still covers costs.
Can I combine discounts?
Yes, but apply them in the agreed order and recalculate, since two 10 percent discounts are not the same as one 20 percent discount.
