Formula
Days remaining = target date minus the starting date, in whole days. A negative result means the date has already passed.
How it works

Worked example
For example, from 28 October 2026 to 1 January 2027 there are 65 days remaining.
FAQs
Is today counted as day 0 or day 1?
Today is day 0, so a target tomorrow is 1 day away. Add 1 if you prefer an inclusive count.
What if the target date is in the past?
The calculator says how many days ago it was, instead of showing a negative countdown.
Does it account for leap years?
Yes, because it uses real calendar dates.
