Salary to Hourly Calculator
Convert an annual salary into an hourly rate based on hours worked.
The hourly rate is what each hour of work is worth on this salary and schedule, and the weekly pay is the matching amount earned in one week.
Formula
Hourly rate equals annual salary divided by hours per week times weeks per year.
How it works
Paid holidays and overtime change the picture, so adjust weeks or hours to match your real schedule. This gives a gross rate before tax.
Worked example
For example, a $60,000 annual salary at 40 hours per week for 52 weeks gives 60,000 ÷ (40 × 52) = 60,000 ÷ 2,080 = $28.85 per hour, and weekly pay of 60,000 ÷ 52 = $1,153.85.
FAQs
Why 52 weeks?
That is a full working year; use fewer weeks if you take unpaid leave.
Does it include benefits?
No, benefits are extra value on top of the cash rate.
Can I compare job offers this way?
Yes — hourly rate plus benefits gives a fairer comparison than salary alone.
Are these figures financial advice?
No — they are estimates for planning only, not financial advice. Check with a qualified adviser for decisions involving large sums.
