Rebar Quantity Calculator
Count how many bars fit along a length at a given centre-to-centre spacing.
This result is the number of bars to buy for one straight run at the spacing you entered, including the closing bar at the far end.
Formula
Number of bars = (length in centimetres divided by spacing in centimetres) plus one, rounded up. The extra bar closes the far end of the run.
How it works
Measure the length the bars must cover and the spacing between their centres. The calculator works out how many bars that spacing needs, including the closing bar at the end. Spacing itself must follow the structural design, not this count alone.
Worked example
For example, covering 10 metres at 15 cm spacing gives 10 x 100 / 15 + 1 = 67.67, rounded up to 68 bars.
FAQs
Why add one bar?
Without it, the last gap at the far end would have no bar. The plus-one rule is standard for a run of evenly spaced bars.
What spacing should I use?
Use the spacing shown on the structural drawings. Do not guess it from this calculator.
Does this include stirrups or ties?
No, this counts main bars in one straight run only.
Rough estimate only — consult a licensed professional for structural work before building.
