Puppy Weight Estimate Calculator

Roughly project an adult weight from a puppy's current weight and age.

—

This result is a rough estimate of the puppy's adult weight in kilograms, not an exact adult weight.

Formula

Adult weight is estimated as current weight divided by a growth fraction that reaches 1.0 at 24 months.

How it works

The fraction grows with age, so a young puppy's weight is scaled up more than an older puppy's. Mixed breeds and large breeds break this simple curve most, so treat it as a ballpark.

Worked example

For example, a puppy weighing 5 kg at 4 months gives 5 ÷ (0.5 + 4 ÷ 24) = 7.5 kg as a rough adult weight estimate.
