Ellipse Area Calculator
Find the area of an ellipse from its two semi-axes.
This result is the area of the ellipse in square units, so larger semi-axes give a larger area.
Formula
Ellipse area = π × semi-axis a × semi-axis b.
How it works
Enter the two half-widths of the ellipse. The calculator multiplies them by pi. When both are equal, it becomes a circle.
Worked example
For example, with semi-axis a of 5 and semi-axis b of 3, the area is π × 5 × 3 = 47.1239 square units.
