Dividend Yield Calculator
Find dividend yield from annual dividend per share and share price.
This yield shows the annual dividend as a share of the price, so it compares the income from the share with what it costs to buy.
Formula
Dividend yield equals annual dividend per share divided by share price, times 100.
How it works
Yield moves inversely with price: if the price falls, yield rises even if the dividend is unchanged. A very high yield can signal a price fall or a dividend at risk, not just generosity.
Worked example
For example, an annual dividend of $2 per share and a share price of $50 gives a dividend yield of 4.00%.
