Business SIP Future Value Calculator (25 Years)
Estimate the future value of a regular investment plan. This business version uses a 25-year planning term as its starting point.
Over 25 years, the Future value figure is the estimated total your regular monthly investments would grow to by the end of the term, including interest earned along the way.
Formula
Future value uses the monthly rate and number of monthly investments to grow each investment with interest.
How it works
Regular investing smooths timing and lets compounding build the value over time.
Worked example
Monthly investment $300, annual rate 8%, term 25 years. First, the monthly rate is 8% divided by 12, which is 0.0066667, and the number of monthly investments is 25 times 12, which is 300. Using the future value formula, the future value is $300 times ((1.0066667 to the power of 300) minus 1) divided by 0.0066667, which is $285,307.92. Over 300 investments the business pays in $90,000.00, and interest adds $195,307.92, which is 68.5% of the future value. At this point more than two-thirds of the final value is interest, not deposits.
Who this term suits for a business: a family or partnership business planning a handover over a generation, for example an owner building a retirement and succession fund, a long-lease purchase fund, or a reserve that lets the next owner take over without fresh borrowing, where continuity matters more than speed.
FAQs
What is a SIP?
A SIP is a regular investment of a fixed amount, usually monthly, into a fund or plan.
Is this business calculator exact?
No, it is an estimate for planning only, based on the numbers you enter.
Are these figures financial advice?
No, they are estimates for planning only, not financial advice. Check with a qualified adviser for decisions involving large sums.
Why does interest pass deposits by so much at 25 years?
Because compounding builds on itself. By year 25 the balance earns interest on earlier interest as well as on deposits, so $90,000.00 paid in grows by $195,307.92 of interest to $285,307.92. The longer the run, the larger the share that is interest rather than deposits.
How does a business keep saving $300 for 25 years through downturns?
By treating the $300 as a fixed business cost in good months and reviewing it honestly in bad months, rather than stopping silently. A pause is sometimes unavoidable, but a paused plan will not reach $285,307.92, because missed deposits also miss years of compounding.
Should the $300 goal rise with inflation over 25 years?
For a real goal, such as a premises purchase, yes, the monthly sum should be reviewed for price rises. This calculator keeps $300 fixed, so the $285,307.92 figure is in future nominal terms and will buy less than the same sum today after 25 years of price rises.
